Summer is in full swing here and I absolutely love entertaining in the summer, especially outdoor parties. Because entertaining is limited to indoors 7-8 months out of the year in PA because of the weather, anytime I can throw a party outside I jump at the opportunity. When I was asked to throw a party using the new Indigo party collection from the Martha Stewart Celebrations line at Michaels, I was really excited! Using my new Cricut® Explore Air™ 2 Special Edition, Martha Stewart Machine Bundle, available exclusively at Michaels, I threw a beautiful outdoor dinner party for a friend’s birthday using indigo, white, and peaches as the inspiration. Because of all of the gorgeous products in the Martha Stewart Indigo party line and the endless opportunities with the Cricut Martha Stewart machine, I was able to come up with some amazing outdoor summer party ideas and make gorgeous DIY Peach Party Decorations!

Martha Stewart Cricut Explore Air 2
If you’ve never used a Cricut, planning a function like this backyard dinner party is the perfect opportunity to start! With my Cricut Explore Air 2, I was able to create beautiful and easy party details that might have otherwise been overlooked because they would be too time consuming or expensive to purchase already made. But with the Martha Stewart Explore Air 2, I can create Pinterest-worthy projects that personalize the party at a great value.
For those of you who are just being introduced to the Cricut Explore Air 2, prepare to be blown away. It’s simple to use but it is a stunning machine. The Martha Stewart edition is a pearl white with brushed gold details, and is probably my favorite of all of the Explore models because of those gorgeous details. It also comes with a coordinating gold tool set and Martha Stewart projects so you can start crafting gorgeous designs right out of the box. In addition to the projects, this machine comes with 25 exclusive Martha Stewart images (including a pineapple! Yay!) that you can combine with the 1000s of designs available in the free, easy-to-learn Cricut Design Space to create projects that are perfect for any occasion. And because this Explore Air 2 model can cut up to 2x faster than previous Explore models, you can cut 100+ different materials from cardstock and vinyl to foil and faux leather with ease.
Not only was I able to use the Martha Stewart Cricut Machine, the all-new assortment of Martha Stewart Celebrations party supplies at Michaels allow you to plan a gorgeous party with party essentials in 10 different themes.
These are just a few of the party supplies that are part of the Indigo Collection. I love the orange details with the indigo blue, which is how I came up with the idea to use peaches for my backyard party.
DIY Peach Party Decorations
Using table setting pieces that I already had in my collection, I coordinated the Martha Stewart indigo party supplies with blue and white gingham (you guys know how I love my gingham!), natural woven placemats and loads of flowers and peaches.
One of my favorite details of this outdoor birthday party was this “You’re a Peach” cake topper that I made using 2 layers of card stock. And this cake?! It’s simple but perfect for the party.
The favor bags from the Martha Stewart Celebrations line were perfect to hand out to each of the guests. And instead of using the dinner plates as actual plates, I used them as small trays to put favors and food on.
An AWESOME trick that I learned not long along was that you can use IRON-ON vinyl on paper napkins to personalize them. I made these personalized cocktail napkins with the same design as the cake topper. Iron-on makes them super durable and SO easy to apply.
For the place settings, I used a vintage blue and white plate from my collection as a charger, and placed a basketweave rimmed white plate with a layered vinyl monogram that I designed on my Martha Stewart machine.
How to Make DIY Monogrammed Plates with your Cricut
Making monogrammed plates for the backyard party was one detail that all of the guests thought was a personal touch. The monograms served as a place card for each guest and the layering of the vinyl coordinated perfectly with the blue and white dishes underneath.
To make these DIY Monogrammed Plates, you need:
-2 colors of Cricut Vinyl (SHOP HERE)
–Cricut Transfer Tape
You can easily design these monograms in Cricut Design Space by customizing the design we used for the party.

We designed 6 monograms for the party using the Layered Monogram font, available with Cricut Access (learn more about the benefits of having Cricut Access HERE). All of the layers are welded together so the navy and white cut properly, so by using that font you can create the monograms easily by just varying your font size.
Once you have your monograms designed, click the “Make It” button to cut your vinyl. For the Cricut Explore Air 2 model, it is so easy to use because all you have to do to prepare your machine to cut Vinyl is turn the Smart Set dial to “vinyl” and the machine knows what to do!
Cut the layers and using Cricut Transfer Tape, apply the monograms to the center of the plates.
Once you have the vinyl applied, you can choose to use clear plates on top so everything is food safe (which we didn’t put in place for pictures).
For the white trellis in the background of the party, I used the Indigo collection Honeycombs to suspend from the trellis and the tree.
Using the Martha Stewart Cricut machine, I also made green card stock leaves to transform Peach Honeycombs into 3D peaches:
I also made Peach Flavored Sweet Tea and simple and easy Peach and Blueberry Trifles in individual mini glasses for each of the guests. Mini desserts are perfect for an outdoor dinner party because you don’t have to worry about a large dessert taking up space on your table.
This is definitely one of my favorite parties to date! I love how the fresh peaches infused the whole table with tons of color. With the addition of the Indigo Martha Stewart Party Supplies and the personalized details I crafted with the Martha Stewart Cricut Explore Air 2, this was definitely a backyard party to remember!
