Teacher Appreciation Printable Tags

Teacher Appreciation Week is just a couple of weeks away–starting May 7th–and we are sharing a few ideas today to get your teacher gift ideas started. We created these teacher appreciation printable tags that you can download for FREE, but just for a limited time! It’s the perfect reason to say “Thank you, Teacher!”

Everyday Party Magazine found this cute little gift basket at Target that makes this teacher appreciation gift really easy, but these printable tags make it really easy to create your own Teacher Gift!

This particular little bucket came with lemonade mix, so we created the adorable matching “when teaching gives you lemons” tag to match. But what I love about the design is that you can use the tag to go along with your own basket or DIY Teacher Gift idea! Just use the printable tag as a small thank you note to teachers.

For those of you that want to know what “day” Teacher Appreciation Day is to send in your gift, it’s Tuesday, May 8, 2018. Use these as teacher gift tags or even as cards for teachers. Pair with a small teacher gift or thank you message and you’re set! Everyday Party Magazine is sharing two other tags for FREE (for a limited time!) as well!

This “Tea-rrific” Teacher Gift Tag is paired with some tea and scone mix in another small basket from Target, but could easily work with some Starbucks gift cards or boxes of tea. We love the large flower pattern in orange and pink; it feels like springtime!

This small teacher appreciation gift basket from Target came with Mojito drink ingredients, but this tag would work with a bottle of wine, a liquor store gift card, and can be used year round for other occasions (I’m thinking my mom could use this after she keeps my kids for the weekend)! And yes, we all know our kids make the teachers drink (even if just a little). HAHA!

You can get these FREE TEACHER APPRECIATION PRINTABLES for just a few short days, and then they’ll be listed in the Everyday Party Magazine shop!

You can find the Lemonade Teacher Gift Tag HERE.

Carrot and Orange Mimosa for Easter Brunch

Mimosas are a staple at our Easter table! We’ve mixed it up in year’s past with other fruit juices, but this year decided to go decidedly “Easter Bunny” with this super easy Carrot and Orange Mimosa.

First of all, how stinkin’ cute are those little cocktail napkins from Target?! I’ve decided to plan my whole Easter dessert display after those “Hip Hop Hooray” napkins!

If you’re a fan of mimosas, you know that they are incredibly easy to make. No recipe required! It’s all about taste, friends! I like mine a little heavy on the champagne so I make sure to leave room at the top of the glass 😉

But for a place to start with these, follow these simple measurements:

-Fill 1/4 of champagne glass with carrot juice.
-Fill 1/2 (leaving 1/4 empty) with orange juice.
-Top off with bubbly champagne

If you’d like to make these kid table friendly, just substitute Sprite for the champagne!

Did you see the Peeps martini we made?

Definitely give it a go if you’re into a little more alcohol at the Easter drink cart. We don’t judge around here.

Traditional Coconut Cream Pie for a Southern Easter Brunch

When planning for a holiday celebration, I always try to pick out some new recipes as well as some tried and true favorites. This recipe is one of them. Coconut Cream Pie has been a family favorite for decades and always makes an appearance at holidays, picnics, and sometimes just Sunday dinner. Coconut Cream Pie made from scratch can sound difficult, but it’s actually pretty easy! Keep reading for our Southern Coconut Cream Pie recipe!

Southern Easter Brunch Ideas Coconut Cream Pie

There’s something about toasted coconut flakes that just makes me happy. If you asked me to eat a spoonful out of the bag, I would turn you down immediately, but when you bake it in the oven, it’s comes out all crispy and so so tasty!

Coconut Cream Pie Recipe for Traditional Southern Easter Dinner

And as a side note–I can’t get enough of fresh flowers right now. These tulips are from my friend Kathy from The Bloomery–she runs a flower CSA (isn’t that an awesome idea!), so I’ll have fresh flowers every week! And since it’s been snowing here still (Seriously! Totally over it!!!), the flowers are definitely a bright spot on my counter. And they look so pretty with my pie!

Traditional Coconut Cream Pie

Perfect for holidays, picnics, and anytime you're in the mood for a lovely old-fashioned favorite.

Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 4 hours 40 minutes
Servings 10

  • 1 9" baked pie crust pre-made or from scratch
  • 1 1/4 cups sweetened coconut flakes
  • 3 cups half and half
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • pinch salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Toast coconut flakes until golden brown, about  5-8 minutes, stirring once. Set aside.

  2. Place crust in pie plate and pierce with a fork all over the bottom and sides of the pie crust. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Set aside to cool.

  3. Place half and half, eggs, sugar, flour and salt in a heavy bottomed sauce pan and whisk to fully combine. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, bringing the mixture to a boil. It will start to thicken and turn into a pudding consistency. Cook for 1-2 minutes more and remove from heat. Stir in vanilla.

  4. Stir 1 cup of the toasted coconut flakes into the pudding. Put pudding into pie crust and let cool. Refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours to completely cool.

  5. Before serving, place heavy whipping cream in the bowl of a stand mixer with the whisk attachment. Turn on medium speed and whisk until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar and whisk until cream has formed stiff peaks.

  6. Spread whipped cream over cooled pie and sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup of coconut flakes.

  7. Cut into slices to serve.

Some simple tricks to make this pie even easier: use a pre-made store bought crust, and instead of whipping the cream, use cool whip! I promise, everyone will still love your pie!

Easy Easter Chocolate Cake with Peeps Bunny Marshmallows

Only one week until Easter! We are all about easy and adorable Easter projects for this week–and this Chocolate Cake with Peeps Bunny Marshmallows is perfect!

This post and the photos within it may contain affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one or more of the links, I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Items needed to make this Easy Easter Dessert:

-Chocolate Cake Mix (search on AMAZON for some of my favorite chocolate cake mixes!)
-Chocolate Icing Recipe
-Chocolate Cookie Crumbs (have Oreos delivered to your front door!)
-Fondant (this is our absolute FAVORITE brand of fondant)
-Food Coloring (gel food coloring is best)
-Peeps Bunny Marshmallows (love ’em or hate ’em, they sure are cute)

Bake your cake according to the instructions on the box. Depending on the brand and the size/number of layers you want the cake to be, you make have to make two batches of cake mix. Let cool.

Prepare chocolate icing and layer in-between the cakes using a star tip so it leaves the pretty edge that’s visible (since we’re not icing the outside of the cake).

Using the fondant, make small carrots to decorate the top. Use small amounts of orange and green food coloring and form the carrots and stems with your fingers and small craft knife. If the fondant is too sticky, use a little bit of corn starch or powdered sugar to keep from sticking to your fingers/counters.

Decorate the top of the cake and cake stand with chocolate cookie crumbs. Add your Peeps Bunny Marshmallows to the top of the cake by sticking them on with toothpicks.

Note: if you decide to make your cake 3 or more layers, you can use plastic straws cut to height to stabilize the cake and keep it from leaning too far.

Irish Cream Brownie Recipe + Easy Cricut Craft

Two more days until St. Patrick’s Day! Today we are sharing a SUPER EASY Irish Cream Brownie Recipe, as well as an EASY DIY Craft to add the shamrock to the brownies with your Cricut machine (Don’t have a Cricut? Well, you need one like NOW! SHOP HERE).

This post contains affiliate links. If you decide to make a purchase through these links, I will receive a small commission, at no additional cost to you. These links help us to keep our blog content free, so thank you!

First, I’ll show you really quick how we made the shamrock design using the Cricut Maker! (SHOP CRICUT HERESHOP CRICUT HERE).

Supplies needed:

-Cricut Maker or similar cutting machine (SHOP HERE)
-Light Grip Cutting Mat (SHOP CRICUT SUPPLIES HERE) *And for March 2018, all supplies are ON SALE!*
-Piece of cardstock (any color)
-Shamrock shape from Cricut Design Space or you can DOWNLOAD our Simple Shamrock Design by CLICKING HERE

(Beginner Design Space knowledge required). Upload your shamrock into Cricut Design Space and place it within a square the size you’d like to cut your brownies. “Attach” both the square and the shamrock to the canvas so it will cut like the image below (we always use the Light Grip mat so the card stock comes off easily).

Take the shamrock out of the square and lay over the cut brownie:

Dust with powdered sugar:

Your brownie will look like this before you CAREFULLY lift off the card stock:

You’re left with an adorable shamrock shape!

Now for that brownie recipe (I’m not kidding, it’s SO easy!).

What you need:

-Box of brownie mix
-Irish Cream

Instructions: Follow the recipe on the box of brownies, except replace 2 tablespoons of the water with 2 tablespoon of Irish cream. DONE!

I was pleasantly surprised at how much of the Irish cream flavor came through (the alcohol will likely cook out while baking), and I love Irish cream so I was happy with the flavor! Haha! And with the darling little powdered sugar design on them, they make for a cute (and simple!) party food item!

St. Patrick’s Day Tablescape Ideas

St. Patrick’s Day is a great excuse to set a cute table for dinner or for a party! We are thinking this year that we might include some fresh shamrocks and white flowers for a “spring” feel. While we were searching for inspiration, we found some really great tablescapes for St. Patrick’s Day!

This classic “Spring” look as seen on Elements of Style would be gorgeous for any spring soiree! And that massive prayer jar–we need it!

I love the Green glassware, metallics, and vintage dishes used in this “Bohemian” St. Patrick’s Day tablescape found on Artfully Wed:

One of our favorite sources of table inspiration is always Pizzazzerie, and she crushed it with this tablescape with a hint of rainbow in the form of Lindt truffles:

Greige Design stole our heart with the romantic greens and flowers and tall candlesticks on this gorgeous table:

I can’t wait to design my table for Saturday’s dinner! Now off to search for some fresh Shamrocks 🙂

Materials Needed:

-Cricut cutting machine (SHOP CRICUT MACHINES HERE)
