Does your mom love flowers? Design and make a laser DIY Plant Marker with Birth Month Flowers that you can put in a flower pot, plant, or other Mother’s Day gift! It’s a easy and thoughtful little gift that mom will love.
DIY Flower Marker for Mother’s Day
I tell my husband and kids every year that I don’t want anything big or expensive for Mother’s Day. I always ask to go to the garden nurseries around our house and get flowers for my flower beds and pots.
Potted flowers and plants also make amazing Mother’s Day gifts, but you can make this cute little plant stake or marker with your laser cutter to take it up a notch! Plus, a huge trend is to use birth month flowers in crafts! You can add the kids’ or grandkids’ birthday flowers to this design for an extra special touch.

I downloaded this set of Birth Month Flower SVGs from Creative Fabrica to use with this project.
Of course, you don’t have to use birth month flowers for this design! You can add these peony flowers or any flower SVG that you or your mom love!
How to Add Birth Month Flowers to DIY Plant Marker
Download the SVG files that you would like to use from Creative Fabrica or another website. Then, you can add them in a program that is compatible with SVG design.
I use Adobe Illustrator, or you can add them directly to the plant marker design in the laser machine software such as the Glowforge App or xTool Creative Space.
Resize to fit the plant tag. You can also resize the whole plant marker if you would like. It’s really easy!
I engraved the file with transfer paper attached to my material. Some of the lines were really faint, so next time I’m going to try it without the paper.
Score or Engrave?
Score lines are especially good for single line designs – like the inner line around the edge of the plant marker. I set the “Happy Mother’s Day” and flowers to engrave, and the thin line to score. Those settings make the production time a little shorter.
Download Plant Marker SVG for Laser Machines
You will NOT be sent an email with the file. Free SVG files available for download are for PERSONAL USE ONLY. SVG file is included to use with Glowforge and xTool Design Software.
I hope you and the moms and grandmas in your life have a wonderful Mother’s Day!
