I must admit that I’m not really a huge fan of New Years. But, I’m always game for a DIY Wine Glass Vinyl Project! Every year my husband and I take our kids to a fancy New Years Eve dinner, and then we have a small family celebration. But there is always wine! This year, I’m going to make these DIY Wine Tumblers for my mom and aunts as easy New Years gifts that I can make myself!
Making DIY Wine Glasses is Easy – You Just Need a New Supplies
–Permanent Vinyl or Oracal 651 (you can buy 651 for a good deal on Amazon)
-Wine Glass or Stainless Steel Wine Tumbler

How to Make a DIY Wine Glass with Vinyl
First, open the SVG in Cricut Design Space by uploading the design.
Size the design to fit your Wine Glass or Tumbler, and click “Make It” when you’re ready to cut.
Weed away the extra vinyl from the design.
To transfer the design to the transfer tape, place a piece of transfer tape over the design that is slightly larger than your image. Rub the front and back of the design with a scraper (or credit card or something similar) to make sure the design adheres fully to the transfer tape. Carefully peel the transfer tape and vinyl design away from the backing sheet.
*NOTE: To make it easier to place the vinyl on the rounded surface of a wine glass or wine tumbler, you can cut around the edges of the transfer tape to create areas that can move around the glass.
Start by applying the vinyl in the middle of the glass, and work your way out to the edges of the design, stretching the vinyl as needed to prevent wrinkles.
Rub your finger or scraper over the whole design before peeling off the transfer tape. If necessary you can use a blow dryer to make sure the vinyl stretches around the glass. Peel off the transfer tape carefully (it may come off in sections if you have sliced it prior to applying the vinyl.)
