Printable Valentines for Hair Ties and Scrunchies

Every year for Valentine’s Day, I design printable valentines for my kids. It is easier to make our own than it is to figure out how many valentines from a package we need to purchase for each child! Plus, every kid wants their own designs, and then we need a small item to put with the valentine. It’s a lot of supplies!

Since a lot of schools do not allow candy valentines (which has been the last few years around here), finding non-candy valentines makes it even harder to just stop at Target or Walmart and grab valentine cards.

I have made several different printable valentines that you can download for free:

My daughters are obsessed with Teleties – they have hair coils and scrunchies, and they wanted to gift their friends something similar. So that is one of the valentine designs they requested this year! I loved how they turned out!

But you can use any kind of hair tie – coils, bands, and scrunchies would all work with this printable valentine. I would even check the Dollar Store if you have a lot of valentines to make!

These cute scrunchie valentine cards are not only an excellent idea for a unique valentine’s gift but also a fantastic craft activity that you can share with your kids’ friends or the girls in their class.

What You’ll Need to Make Hair Tie Valentines

To get started, all you need is some card stock, scissors, and, of course, your favorite hair ties or scrunchies. The printable file, available for free download at the end of the post, includes 4 valentine cards on each 8.5 x 11″ sheet of paper.

I printed the pages on my Canon 12×12 inkjet craft printer. I recommend that you use white card stock or similar heavyweight paper for the best results.

Once printed, cutting and assembling these valentines is a breeze. Cut out each valentine card with scissors, place the hair tie around the middle of the card, then tape the inside to seal the loop and wrap the hair tie. They are the cutest when you use sparkly hair ties, of course! (At least that’s what my youngest daughter says!)

I used my Xyron Mega Runner with double sided adhesive to construct the finished hair tie valentine.

I have even included a PNG file of the valentine card for those of you that want to use Print then Cut with your Cricut or Silhouette machines!

Then have your kid sign the back of the valentine, and you’re done!
