Science and Math Journal Covers Printable

My kids need a science journal and math journal every year, so I thought these printable journal covers would be perfect to cover an inexpensive notebook.

Supplies Needed for Printable Notebook Covers
These Math and Science printable journal covers are such a quick and easy project. Plus, they’re cheap to make and work as a science or math binder cover page, too. My kids suggested that they use them as a science or math folder cover as well.
I used cheap composition notebooks and blank 3 ring binders that you can find in nearly any store that sells school supplies. Save your money for the other school supplies and use these printable notebook covers to dress up inexpensive notebooks!
You can use regular printer paper, card stock, or matte photo paper to print the notebook and binder covers. If you choose a composition notebook with a colorful design, I suggest using a thick paper so the design doesn’t show through.

How to Use a Printable STEM Notebook and Binder Covers
I have included 2 separate designs in the download: notebook covers designed to fit a standard composition notebook, and a full 8.5×11 sheet to insert into a binder cover. You can also use the full sheet for larger notebooks as well.
To cover the notebooks, print the cover designs and trim the edge of the cover that will go against the binding of the notebook. I like using my favorite Cricut paper trimmer – I seriously use it all of the time!
Use an adhesive and cover the front of the composition notebook. You can use a glue stick or fast drying glue like Beacon Zip Dry. Position the cover so the edge is lined up cleanly with the binding and it is centered top to bottom. There will be overhang on the other 3 sides.
You can trim the other edges a little, but it’s not necessary.
Apply glue to the inside edges of the printable cover and fold around the notebook cover creating a neat wrapped edge.
Let the notebook cover dry completely and it’s ready to use! To add additional detail, you can also cover the back of the notebook and the inside covers with coordinating paper. Just trim to fit the inside of the notebook cover and glue in place.
The binder covers are SO easy – just print the full 8.5×11″ design (scale the design to 100% on your printer), trim the edges, and insert under the clear binder cover.
