New to Procreate or looking for some new brushes? Here are 20+ of my favorite FREE Procreate Brushes that you can download to your iPad and use with Procreate TODAY!
I’m a huge fan of the brushes that are included with the Procreate app (really, they’re great!) but I love to try out new brushes just to see what’s out there! On my TikTok page, I share tons of quick and easy Procreate video tutorials – make sure you check out this quick calligraphy brush video:
Procreate is a digital drawing app available in the app store for iPad and iPad Pro (and iPhone now, too!) that you can use with an Apple pencil. It is not a free illustration app, but costs just under $10. For what you get, it is a great deal. It is perfect for beginners, but is also used by graphic designers and professional artists to create digital artworks like illustration and paintings. I use it ALL of the time to create SVG cut files for Cricut and Silhouette machines, sketch out my design projects, create digital calligraphy, and draw my illustration work (like my printable stickers, iPhone app and widget icons, and digital animations).
With Procreate you can produce high quality digital art for commercial or personal use. One of the things that I love about Procreate is the ability to customize your experience by creating custom color palettes, custom brushes, and stamp brushes. Included with your download is the a great set of different brushes, including hand lettering, watercolor brushes, texture brushes, ink brushes, and more!
But if you find yourself using Procreate a LOT, you definitely need to look for premium brushes to really take Procreate to the next level. I personally think that some of the paid brush sets that are available from designers like Lisa Bardot (who is one of my favorites) are a great thing, but free brushes are great just to try out new techniques for digital illustration. I now have a wide variety of brushes that I use all of the time, and it took me a while to create my own brush kit that I constantly use. The good news is that I’m sharing some of best brushes that I have found all over the internet so you don’t have to search everywhere! I know you will find new and different options than you have with the Procreate brush pack.
