My kids start school in less than two weeks, and every year I try to be a little bit more organized. On top of my work tasks, I have to make sure that all of the kids get to school and to their activities. (I already miss summer break, and it’s not even gone yet!)

I’m a really visual person, and I always start new planners and lists in August when school starts. This year I headed over to Michaels to pick up all new pens from Pilot Pen to help organize my new lists! I love using both the G2 and FriXion style of pens for creating my task lists, grocery lists, and to-do lists.

I use them ALL of the time for planning my blog tasks, kid/school calendars, and weekly task planners!

Hand Letter your Bullet Journal with Pilot Pen:

One thing I’ve recently taken interest in is bullet journaling. I love creating pages with lettering and small sketches that I can reference throughout the week. Using the G2 pens for simple hand lettering is really easy, because they are SO smooth to write with.

By just writing in cursive and adding thickness to your letters, you can achieve a hand lettered look with standard pens. If you want to practice – first, write your word in cursive (I chose to make a weekly page for September). Then add lines to the insides of your letters that you can go and fill back in with your G2 pen by Pilot Pen.

Look at what a difference that small trick can make!

You can then go back and add small sketches, a calendar, and a weekly task list to your page. Use your imagination! Using the G2 pens are great because the colors are so opaque – even the gold colored pen is gorgeous on white paper.

I absolutely love to-do lists. At any given moment, I have 3-4 different lists on my desk with varying topics and deadlines. Since school is starting soon, I wanted to create a stylish printable to do list that I can keep on my desk and help keep all of the kids’ schedules and my work lists organized.

How to Use G2 & FriXion Pens by Pilot Pen with a Printable To Do List:

I decided to use both G2 and FriXion pens by Pilot Pen for my to do list – have you ever used erasable FriXion pens? They are a game changer! They write like a gel pen, and then erase smoothly and cleanly so I can write, erase, and then rewrite until my ideas are just right. You will love them.

At Michaels they come in packs that have a variety of colors, which is great for making hand lettered lists.

In the “notes” section of my to-do list, I added a brief grocery list with a pink erasable FriXion pen:

But what if I don’t need apples, and actually need orange juice? Instead of scratching out apples (like I would have to do with traditional pens), I can just erase it!

I decided to make my printable to do list a daily list by hand lettering “Monday” at the top of the list. I used a G2 pen and the same technique as the bullet journal.

Then I added my tasks in 3 different hand lettering styles and colors – adding different fonts to your lists keep them fun and interesting! I used a tall skinny hand lettered font for the first task (go to Michaels, of course!), then a slightly wider sans serif font, and then a hand lettered script.
