I love making Valentine’s Day Cards, and over the years I have spent countless hours piecing together cardstock designs. This year, with the kids’ schedules, I came up with a way to make my Valentine’s Day cards a little easier using Iron On Vinyl! Cricut Iron On cuts really well and is incredibly easy to weed, which makes it perfect for small, detailed designs like what you need for making homemade Valentines.

Valentine’s Day Card Ideas in Cricut Design Space

There are a TON of great Valentine’s Day designs in Cricut Design Space. The above picture is a very small sampling. You can easy choose a design from the large selection that suits your style and the kind of handmade card you would like to make!

I chose two designs to use for my homemade cards: a simple hand lettered “J’adore” design and a modern Heart design that says Happy Valentine’s Day. I purposefully picked the heart designs for my card because the font was very thin and I wanted to test how easy it would be to press onto a card.

Since both designs are available as Cricut Design Space images, you can make these exact cards by heading over to this link:

Whatever designs you choose, make sure you size them to fit your card and then click “Make It” when you’re ready to cut. Make sure you MIRROR the designs since you’re using Iron on Vinyl.

Place your iron on vinyl SHINY SIDE DOWN to cut. After your designs have finished cutting, weed away the extra vinyl. The thin font of the heart design was super easy to weed and left the design perfect!

Press the designs on the cards using the Cricut EasyPress Mat at the bottom, then the card and vinyl, and then the protective sheet. For the cards I used, I found that setting my EasyPress at 250 degrees worked well. Visit the Cricut Recommended EasyPress Settings page for an easy interactive guide on temperature settings and materials.
