One of the most requested party themes we get is an “American Girl” theme. Today we’re featuring a collaborative party between ourselves and The Bloomery, a local resource we use all of the time for farm-grown cut flowers!

Kathy, owner of The Bloomery, and her daughter had awesome ideas for her 8th birthday party that we helped bring to life. Anna Claire absolutely loves American Girl dolls (and so do her friends), so she wanted to incorporate all of the girls’ dolls into the party, of course! It was held in the morning with a breakfast theme, which is an awesome alternative to throwing a traditional evening or weekend afternoon party. That way, you can have the party, clean up, and you and your guests still have the rest of your day to do other stuff!

We designed this custom invitation for the party:

The dessert table turned out awesome! We designed a custom fabric backdrop for the table, and other stationery elements including food tags and cupcake toppers:

The breakfast table was absolutely gorgeous, as designed by Kathy. She created all of the beautiful flower arrangements. You can also see some of the stationery elements and custom design pieces, including menu cards, custom plates and glasses (using vinyl graphics cut on a craft cutting machine), straw flags, and a poster for the mantle in the background:

Here is a clear picture of the poster we designed for the mantle display. We wanted the party to have the “American Girl feel” but take a slightly modern spin on it.

We created custom cupcake toppers and cupcakes for the party. These “crazy” cupcakes we so much fun to decorate and the kids loved them:

The custom cake had the same theme as the cupcakes. The birthday girl even helped add the decorations, which included custom meringues and cake pops and various other types of candy and sprinkles:

Here’s a close-up of the top of the cake:
