Spiced Nuts

These homemade spiced nuts are the perfect idea for the holidays, including Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving celebrations! They are slightly spicy, and have the best crunch! Oven roasted savory spiced nuts are an easy recipe that everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups mixed raw nuts (I used pecans, almonds, and walnuts)
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (more or less to taste)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg white

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300°. Prepare a cookie sheet with a silicone baking mat.
  • In a medium sized bowl, mix sugar, salt, paprika, cumin, cinnamon, and cayenne. Set aside.

  • Place mixed nuts in a large bowl. Beat egg white in a small bowl with a fork until frothy. Pour over nuts and mix well until nuts are evenly coated.

  • Pour spice mixture over the nuts and stir until they are evenly coated.

  • Spread onto tray in an even layer. Bake in oven for 45 minutes, stirring once.

  • Let cool and then serve. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

I used a variety of nuts, but this recipe could easily be used with a single variety such as pecans or almonds. The flavor will still be great!
