Glitter Slime

My daughter insists that making a slime recipe that can be combined by the owner or gift recipient is half the fun. So we used a basic crystal clear slime recipe (with NO borax!) that can be used with 3 different kinds of glitters. Then, after you’ve made the 3 different varieties of glitter slime, you can mix them to make an amazing slime full of sparkles and snowflakes (because it’s Frozen inspired!)

Ingredients Needed to Make Frozen Glitter Slime

My daughter will tell you that slime making is a practice-makes-perfect kind of project. And she’s good at it – really good. Because she makes a lot of it! What I like about slime recipes is that you can always add more of the activating ingredients (baking soda & contact solution) or water and lotion in intervals to achieve the consistency of slime you’d like. It’s hard to mess up!

I ordered all of my glitters from specialty glitter shops – but you can truly use whatever Frozen inspired glitters you’d like! Maybe pink for Anna, blue for Elsa, and snowflakes for Olaf? The options are endless!

How to Make Frozen Glitter Slime

Making glitter slime is really easy! First, put your clear glue in a bowl. Add the baking soda and mix well to combine.

Next, slowly add the contact solution, and mix. It will start to pull away from the bowl, at which point you can start mixing it with your hands. You want it to be a little sticky, because when you add glitter it will make it more stiff.

We made the glitter slimes in 3 separate batches. The first set of glitter we used was the white holographic glitter and snowflake cutouts. This one we called our “Olaf Glitter Slime.”

The other two slimes are definitely Elsa-inspired! Next was the holographic chunky glitter blend.

The last slime contained a tiny bit of blue alcohol ink and blue holographic glitters.

After they were all made, we took small amounts of each of the glitter slimes and swirled them together to make the ultimate Frozen slime! My daughters absolutely loved mixing them together.

This Frozen glitter slime would also make a great holiday gift for tweens or kids – we packaged each slime into clear plastic ornaments (they separate in half) for gifting. Then the recipient can mix them on their own!

They would also be great for Frozen birthday party favors!

Notes

Note: adding more baking soda or contact solution will make the slime less sticky. If you’ve found that your slime is too “hard” you can add a tiny amount of lotion or water and mix until you’ve achieved the right consistency.
