Today I’m sharing some great DIY Valentine’s Day Party and Craft Ideas that you can use to make several DIY Valentine’s Day Party Decorations! Also, you can definitely adapt these ideas to make DIY Valentines and DIY Valentine’s Day Mantel Decorations.

Every year I throw my kids a small but special Valentine’s Day party, just as a fun way to spend some time hanging out with them and share some Valentine’s Day party treats. It is also a good way to use up the extra treats from their Valentine’s Day Party at school! My two oldest kids are old enough now to help make some of the DIY Party Decorations, so it’s even more fun.

After using some of the exclusive Martha Stewart designs in Cricut Design Space to make a DIY Handmade Valentine’s Day Card, I couldn’t help but think that some of the designs would be perfect to use for this cute Valentine’s Day party for the kids. Using your Cricut machine (or other cutting machine) is a great way to plan a party on a budget, because you can make so many of the decorations yourself!

DIY Valentine’s Day Party Decor Ideas

This party may look detailed, but everything you see is store bought! Well, at least that’s what I started with. Even though I love throwing big parties, I don’t always have time to make everything from scratch. So instead I head to my local stores and pick up some inexpensive and ready made items to “dress up” using handmade crafts made with my Cricut or other craft supplies I have at home.

-Lollipop Sticks (for DIY Valentine’s Cake Topper)

DIY Valentine’s Day Party Cake Topper with Hearts

This easy cake topper is made using multiple heart designs found in Cricut Design Space under the Martha Stewart Cricut designs. They are cut out of cardstock and small details were added with Iron On Vinyl – yes, you can use Iron On Vinyl on Paper!

See another project that I used Iron on Vinyl on Paper!

I used hot glue to attach all of the hearts to lollipop sticks, and then inserted in the top of the cake at varying levels.

As for the cake, it is a plain cake iced with white and light pink frosting, and using a Valentine’s Day colored sprinkle mix, I covered the bottom part of the cake in a “messy” pattern. You can be creative, don’t worry about being neat!

DIY Valentine’s Day Party Favor Bags with Hearts

These DIY Valentine’s Day Party Favor Bags are such an easy Valentine’s Day craft that can be used for school treats or to hold a small Valentine’s Day gift. I used Cricut Premium Vinyl to layer the white hearts and pink “made with love” to create a label for the bags. And I love how the scalloped edge of the bag matches the hearts!

I also made these REALLY easy (and colorful!) gelatin dessert cups. Just fill sundae cups or another type of fancy glass with strawberry gelatin and chill until it’s solid. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles!

The final projects I made with my Cricut for this Valentine’s Day party full of DIY crafts were the party banners I hung on the wall as a party backdrop. The “Sweet Treats” and hearts are from the same Martha Stewart Cricut designs, just resized to fit my party backdrop.

DIY Valentine’s Day Party Banner Craft

I find it so much easier when I’m making small paper projects to use Iron On Vinyl, so I used Cricut Everyday Iron On to add the white details on the hearts and the red details on the circle designs. It also keeps your project from getting too thick with layers of cardstock and glue. The “Sweet Treats” banner is simply letters cut out of paper and attached to pink twine.

In addition to the Cricut crafts, I also added a simple arrangement of flowers in a candy dish (I love the height I achieved using the candy dish!) and easy cookies and cupcakes.
