Cricut Organization Ideas

We recently renovated part of my home and in process I inherited a new space in our home for an office and craft room. It was our formal dining room – it is a separate room right next to our kitchen and front door, so it’s close to where the kids spend their time and I can keep an eye on everything. The downside is, there isn’t a closet in the room. So I’ve had to come up with some creative ideas for storing my Cricut supplies and party supplies in a small space. Since we just finished a relatively large home renovation, I had a small budget for the craft room organization. Luckily, IKEA has a few good storage options for organizing all of my Cricut craft room supplies!

Cricut Craft Room Organization Ideas for a Small Space

In addition to all of my Cricut supplies, I need a place to store all of the small party supplies that I use for photo shoots, parties, and styling. I found this set of Alex drawers at IKEA on wheels that is perfect for storing both Cricut vinyl and party supplies. AND, I can set my Martha Stewart Cricut Explore Air 2 right on top!

Since I need to organize multiple kinds of Cricut vinyl, I decided to label each of the drawers with what craft or party supply is going in them.

I created vinyl labels in Cricut Design Space using one of the Martha Stewart fonts available, which is clean and modern – perfect for my newly clean craft room! I spaced the lettering and welded the words, but you can access my labels in Design Space!

I cut the labels out of blue Martha Stewart branded Cricut Vinyl, available exclusively at Michaels. I can’t begin to tell you how much I love having the Martha Stewart Cricut machine in my craft room! It can cut over 100 different materials, from cardstock, vinyl and iron-on to specialty materials like glitter paper, cork, and bonded fabric. In addition, the Cricut Explore Air 2 series machine cuts up to 2x faster than previous Explore models. Not only is it a powerful machine, it is gorgeous! It comes in a lustrous vanilla pearl finish with brushed gold accents and a set of coordinating tools. AND, there’s a coordinating Cricut EasyPress 2 Martha Stewart Edition in gold that I just love as well. Some of my favorite parties in the last year have been successful due in large part to using my Martha Stewart Cricut machine to create Pinterest-worthy details. Since last Spring, I’ve been sharing simple, yet stunning projects that you can make at home with your Cricut. I have styled an incredible Magical Unicorn Party, an Outdoor Peach partya Cake Topper, and a simple Dinosaur birthday party favor, among other designs!

To make sure all of my labels lined up perfectly on the drawers, I used a piece of blue painter’s tape to mark the edge of where the labels would be adhered.

Just cut out the labels, and use Transfer Tape to apply them to the drawer. Use a Cricut Scraper to make sure the letters are firmly pressed onto the drawer so the Cricut Transfer Tape will lift easily.

Apply all of the drawer names! I was able to use the same piece of transfer tape for all of the drawers.

In addition to the Alex drawers, I also bought an IKEA Skadis pegboard system to organize some of my Cricut tools and extra supplies above my new Cricut cutting station.

I used small hooks to hang my Cricut weeding tools and scrapers.

I love how neat and organized the Cricut tools are – and away from little hands!

A ribbon holder is being used to hold a roll of Transfer Tape – I can just pull down and cut off as much as I need.

My Cricut pens are on a small shelf (and of course I had to find a place to display a small pineapple!)

I also designed new Pineapple and Tropical wall art for my office using Martha Stewart Paints and the same blue Martha Stewart Cricut Vinyl as my drawer labels! Both of the designs are available in the Martha Stewart Exclusive Designs in Cricut Design Space! I added my art work to the framed print I already owned from C. Brooke Ring.
